The Bob Graham round is something I’ve only been thinking about in the last 12 months or so, since the first time I ran over 30 miles in a race and started trail running. Both the terrain and the length of those two types of event seem to be what suits me most, the two together being my preference – the variety of ground underfoot and views lift my spirits and give me a sense of purpose. The BGR being right on my doorstep (well the start only 13 miles away) is ideal.
This year I intend to go out and help others in their attempts by being a support runner on some of the legs. How to go about this and race? Probably it will mean less racing than I’d like but preparation is the key – to get mountain fit and confident, to know the various legs well.
